18 YEARS OF RAISING FUNDS FOR LOCAL CHARITIES

Who says you shouldn?t mix business with pleasure? The Matrix Club has raised over thirty five thousand pounds for local charities over the past eighteen years whilst providing a social forum for business and professional ladies to meet and get to know each other as well as the organisations they represent.

Based in Norwich, The Matrix Club meets for lunch on the third Tuesday of every month except August, often with a speaker at a local hotel. Ladies from a wide range of professions, together with business women including sole traders, meet in a relaxed atmosphere for friendship with a purpose.

In addition to our meetings, members enjoy a range of events ? anything from fashion shows, treasure hunts, sponsored walks to barn dances and the like.  Our programme of events so far for 2006 includes:-

21st May - Sponsored walk around Blickling to include a pub lunch if desired.

22nd June - Treasure hunt.

29th September - Barn Dance.

The Club also runs a 100 club to add to the proceeds raised for the selected charity. This year the Club is raising funds for the Thomas Bullock Day Centre. In recent years thousands of pounds have been presented to Norwich Door to Door - a transport service for the otherwise housebound, the East Anglian Air Ambulance, Caistor Volunteer Rescue Service, FAITH Animal Rescue and MacMillan Cancer Relief as well as the local branches of national charities such as the Alzheimers Society and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Members attend as and when they are able to support the lunches or organised fundraising events.  Many have very busy schedules but balance the pressures of working life in 21st century with their need to ?give something back? to the community. Joining The Matrix Club is an excellent way of contributing whilst making new friends and contacts at pleasurable social occasions.

If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact the Membership Secretary. You will be invited to a monthly lunch, prior to joining, to see if it is for you.
